PRIVACY POLICY
TRANSPARENCY FOR POWER. DISCRETION FOR PEOPLE
Mr. Warner Robins™ exists because meaningful accountability requires access to information.
In a world increasingly shaped by cameras, databases, digital records, automated systems and government surveillance, transparency cannot reasonably operate in only one direction. When public institutions exercise power, spend public money, make public policy or deploy technologies capable of observing the public, the public has a legitimate interest in observing those institutions in return.
But government transparency and personal privacy are not the same thing.
Public power should be observable. Private individuals should not become collateral damage simply because they help expose it.
This Privacy Policy explains how Mr. Warner Robins™ approaches information collected through this website, its investigations, public archives and direct communications.
INFORMATION WE MAY RECEIVE
Mr. Warner Robins™ may receive information when individuals voluntarily contact the project, submit documents, provide tips, communicate by email, participate in interviews or otherwise interact with the operation.
Depending upon the circumstances, this information may include names, email addresses, telephone numbers, documents, photographs, video, audio, correspondence, firsthand accounts and other information voluntarily supplied by the individual.
The website and third-party services used to operate it may also collect ordinary technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, device information, cookies or usage data according to the practices of those service providers.
Mr. Warner Robins™ does not intentionally collect personal information merely for the purpose of building commercial profiles of visitors.
PUBLIC RECORDS & PUBLIC INFORMATION
Mr. Warner Robins™ routinely works with information obtained through public records, court proceedings, government meetings, public databases, publicly accessible sources and investigative research.
The fact that information is legally available does not automatically mean every piece of it should be republished.
Editorial judgment may therefore be used when publishing records containing sensitive information involving private individuals, minors, medical information, personal contact information or other material whose disclosure adds little to the public-interest purpose of the investigation.
The guiding question is not simply:
Can this information be published?
It is also:
Does publishing it serve the public interest?
SOURCES, WHISTLEBLOWERS & CONFIDENTIAL COMMUNICATIONS
PEOPLE WHO COME FORWARD DESERVE SERIOUS PROTECTION.
Current and former government employees, contractors, residents, witnesses and others with firsthand information may contact Mr. Warner Robins™ regarding matters of public concern.
Requests for confidentiality will be treated seriously.
When a source requests confidentiality, reasonable efforts will be made to protect that person's identity, limit unnecessary disclosure of identifying information and discuss potential risks before information is publicly attributed to that individual.
However, absolute anonymity or confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.
Information may become subject to lawful legal process, court order or other obligations beyond the project's control. Circumstances may also arise in which referral to an attorney, law-enforcement agency, inspector general, legislative or congressional body, regulatory agency or other appropriate authority should be considered.
Whenever reasonably possible, such escalation involving a confidential source's identity would be discussed with the source beforehand rather than occurring without their knowledge.
Mr. Warner Robins™ does not represent itself as law enforcement, an attorney, a governmental investigative agency, or a legally privileged reporting channel.
If protecting your identity is critical, say so before providing sensitive information.
DOCUMENTS & EVIDENCE PROVIDED BY SOURCES
Materials submitted to Mr. Warner Robins™ may be reviewed, preserved, compared with other records and used in public-interest research or reporting.
Submission of information does not automatically mean that it will be published.
Before publication, reasonable efforts may be made to verify provenance, corroborate important claims, remove unnecessary personal information and determine whether publication serves a legitimate public-interest purpose.
Individuals should not submit materials they obtained unlawfully or information they are legally prohibited from possessing or disclosing.
CHILDREN & VULNERABLE INDIVIDUALS
Additional care should be exercised when records concern minors, victims, vulnerable adults or individuals whose personal circumstances are not themselves matters of legitimate public concern.
Identifying information may be withheld or redacted when its publication would create unnecessary harm without materially advancing public understanding.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
MrWarnerRobins.org may use or link to third-party platforms and services for website hosting, email, document storage, video, donations, social media or other operational functions.
Those services operate under their own privacy policies and security practices. Mr. Warner Robins™ cannot control how an independent third-party service handles information once a visitor chooses to interact directly with that service.
Visitors should review the privacy practices of those services when appropriate.
SECURITY
Reasonable efforts are made to protect nonpublic information under the project's control.
No website, email system, cloud-storage platform or electronic communication method can guarantee perfect security. Individuals providing particularly sensitive information should consider the risks associated with electronic transmission before doing so.
CORRECTIONS, REMOVAL & PRIVACY CONCERNS
Anyone who believes material published through MrWarnerRobins.org unnecessarily exposes private information, contains materially incorrect personal information or creates a legitimate privacy concern is encouraged to contact the project.
Requests will be evaluated in light of accuracy, public interest, legal obligations, archival integrity and the rights and safety of the people involved.
A request for removal does not guarantee removal of accurate information concerning a legitimate matter of public interest.
OUR PRINCIPLE
Mr. Warner Robins™ believes government accountability and human privacy can coexist.
The purpose of transparency is not to expose ordinary people for the sake of exposure. It is to make institutions, decisions, public expenditures and exercises of governmental power more observable.
Watch the exercise of power. Protect the people willing to help document it. Preserve the record.
